Printing for local brands is one of my favorite projects so when Jerrill from Creative King contacted me last week to get some shirts printed I was excited to work with him again. I asked if it was cool to take the opportunity to do a write up on the project. Here it is:
Emulsion in the scoop
Coat the screen (200 mesh) and let it dry over night
Get the positive printed and set up on my DIY pre-registration unit
Line it up and tape it down
Stick it in the vacuum bag and suck all the air out
Expose the screen
Mix up that discharge ink (PMS 811) and add activator
Tape up the screen, lock it up on press and print!
Discharge ink basically bleaches the shirts to make it have no feel and is perfect for retail ready shirts.
Tag printed with water based white ink (not discharge or it would show up on the back of the shirt)
I like to throw in a few extras with everyone’s orders.
